The Orangery | Birmingham
The clients for this project briefed Mathew Crawford Architects to design a new family dining room and entertaining space in the style of an orangery.
Orangeries originate from Italian renaissance gardens. They were a sign of great wealth and used to house exotic plants and fruit trees. They took advantage of advancements in glass technology and featured large glass lanterns.
